Nikon announces 10 recipients of first Storytellers Scholarship

Ten Talented Students Will Receive $10,000 USD Each in Academic Scholarships

MELVILLE, N.Y.June 27, 2018 /PRNewswire/ — Today, Nikon Inc. announces the recipients of the first-ever Nikon Storytellers Scholarship, a program designed to support future visual content creators. The scholarship received over 1,000 submissions from eligible students across the United States and Canada. Ten deserving recipients were selected by an esteemed panel of judges based on academic achievement and creative portfolio submissions. To determine the winners, Nikon assembled an esteemed panel of judges based on their unique experiences and diverse perspectives, representing Nikon Ambassadors, creatives and industry professionals.

The Nikon Storytellers Scholarship Judging Panel:

A collection of Nikon representatives, industry professionals and creatives were a part of the judging panel responsible for evaluating photo portfolios and video submissions. Evaluations were based on the students’ ability to effectively tell a story visually and the overall quality of their work. “I enjoyed the creativity and personal flare that each of the students weaved into their submissions,” said participating judge and Nikon USA Ambassador, Joe McNally. “The quality of all of the submissions demonstrates the power of visual content to tell stories and how these students are truly finding unique ways to share their perspectives.”
